Celeste Aurora Sánchez González

Biography

Ms Celeste Aurora Sánchez González is bachelor of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry, Master Technology and Control of Drugs, Doctor in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) and Senior Researcher, granted by the University of Havana and the Science Academy in Cuba. Fourteen years of experience in pharmaceutical industry in charge of research and development, manufacture, and quality control of drugs.

 

She is the founder of the Cuban regulatory authority for medical products (CECMED), developing activities for marketing authorization of drugs and biological products, quality assessor (CMC), and advisory tasks, mainly in regulatory standards and coordination of initiatives for regulatory convergence.

 

She has a wide history of collaboration with WHO and PAHO as Temporary Advisor in several global and regional projects, capacity building, international exchanges, and involved in developing tools for assessment and strengthening of national regulatory systems for more than 20 years.

 

She is the head of the division of Policy and Regulatory Affairs since 2014, and the official representative of CECMED in ICH and IPRP.
