Biography

Celine Hayden is a regulatory scientist and global health professional with expertise in sexually transmitted infection (STI) diagnostics, vaccine development, and medical device regulation. She is Senior Scientific Evaluator in the In Vitro Diagnostics Division of Health Canada's Medical Devices Directorate, where she evaluates pre-market applications for diagnostic technologies and applies international regulatory standards to support the safety, effectiveness, and quality of medical devices.

Her work focuses on advancing equitable access to high-quality diagnostics and strengthening evidence-based approaches to STI prevention and care. She has contributed to the development of WHO normative guidance and technical specifications for STI diagnostics, and has supported international regulatory harmonization through her work with the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF).

Her interests include diagnostic innovation, regulatory science, and the translation of evidence into policy and practice.
