Christian Schäerer

Dr Christian Schäerer is a biologist with a Dr. phil. nat (Ph.D) and Post doc position as Virologist from the Institute of Medical Microbiology, University of Berne. He has worked as a Head Section for Establishment and Process Controls of Biologicals Special at Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, Berne. He is a member of EDQM Committee on Quality Assurance in Blood Transfusion Services (Expert Committee) (GTS), since 2013; and was a chairman of the WHO Blood Regulator Network in 2013-2017.  And Since 2012, he has held a position as a head of inspectorate at the Swissmedic, Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products. Dr Schäerer is a Chairman of the WHO Advisory Group for Blood Regulation, Availability and Safety, for 2023-2025.
