Dr Delfina Hlashwayo

Dr Delfina Hlashwayo is a Mozambican biomedical scientist working as a faculty member and researcher at Eduardo Mondlane University. She holds a Ph.D. in biosciences and public health. Since 2013, she has built extensive experience in public health. She is an alumna of the United Nations Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship (2024) and serves as a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee of the UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR). Bridging science and diplomacy, she collaborates with UN agencies, is a Lead Author of the 8th UNESCO Science Report, and serves as an expert consultant for health project evaluations with the European Commission
