Dr Dori Patay
Biography
Dr Patay is a Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Economics (MCHPE). She has over 15 years of experience in the health sector and over 8 years of experience in research, governance strengthening and development in Europe, Africa, and the Western Pacific. She was the acting co-Lead of the Global and Intersectoral Health Policy Theme of MCHPE between December 2022 and July 2024. Dr Patay completed her PhD at the School of Regulation and Global Governance at the Australian National University in 2021. Her main expertise is in governance strengthening and policy advocacy, particularly in the field of noncommunicable disease prevention, commercial and social determinants of health, food systems and tobacco control. Dr Patay’s interests focus on multisectoral and multistakeholder engagement (including whole-of-government and whole-of-society approaches) and governance in the intersection of health, trade, economy, agriculture, and environment. While focusing on her research projects at the University of Sydney, Dr Patay frequently provides advice and consultancies to UN agencies (such as the WHO and the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN).
