Dr Agaba Gidio

Biography

Mulago National Referral Hospital Kampala Uganda

Dr Gidio Agaba is a Physician in the Department of Medicine at Uganda’s National Referral Hospital (Mulago Hospital). He also lectures both graduate and undergraduate students in management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) with emphasis in Hypertension and diabetes at Makerere University College of Health Sciences.

He has a Bachelor in Medicines and Surgery (MBChB) from Mbarara University of Science, and Technology, Uganda and Masters in Medicine (Internal Medicine) from Makerere University, Uganda. He has undertaken long term Clinical Fellowship in Endocrinology at both McMaster University, Canada (2014) and Yale University, America (2016).

Before his current position, he served as a medical officer at International Hospital Kampala (2001-2007) and Senior House Officer/Resident (Internal Medicine) at Mulago National referral Hospital Dr Gidio has served a member of the technical team that developed the integrated approach to NCD Management in Uganda and contributed to the development of Ugandan Clinical guidelines (section on management of NCDs). He is Member of Uganda diabetes association.
