Dr Anatoly Kondrashin
Biography
Dr Kondrashin has served in the capacity of Senior Research Officer for the past 20 years at the Martzinovsky Institute of Medical Parasitology and Tropical Medicine, Moscow, working on the epidemiology of parasitic diseases from 1963–1975 and from 2007 to the present date.
In between, from 1975–1981 and from 1984–2000, Dr Kondrashin
worked for WHO, first as Senior Regional Malaria Adviser at the Regional Office for South-East Asia, and then as the Malaria Unit Chief at
headquarters. After retiring in 2000, he has
served as a consultant on a number of occasions, assisting various national malaria programmes in India, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan,
Iraq and Saudi Arabia, among other countries. Dr Kondrashin also served as WHO Team
leader for the WHO Malaria Elimination Certification Team for United
Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Uzbekistan, and has published
a number of articles in various national and international journals.
