Andre L. Abreu is a pharmacist with a master’s degree in public health and experience in communicable diseases surveillance, epidemiology and emergency preparedness and response. He works in multisectoral coordination for the development, implementation and evaluation of the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Antimicrobial Resistance in the One Health spectrum at national and subnational levels. He develops leadership actions for the development and enhancement of governance, awareness and sustainability of AMR prevention, control and surveillance at the Ministry of Health of Brazil.
He is a member of the Quadripartite Technical Working Group on the Economics of Antimicrobial Resistance (QTG-EA), a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Network for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance (ReLAVRA), a board member of the Global AMR R&D Hub and contributes to discussions on AMR in the Mercosur Health Surveillance Commission.
