Dr Baffour Awuah

Dr Baffour Awuah is a graduate from Kwame N Krumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana and the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. 

He has over 25 years’ experience in NCD Prevention and control, especially in Cancer Care, He has been an advocate for NCD Care continuum from Prevention to Palliative Care. 

He has been involved in cancer Registration activities with support from IARC from 2001to date. He has served on several Advisory Board positions, notably among them are: WHO Technical Advisory Group on Cancer Control in 2005; Chief Program Officer Medical &Dental Health Unit at Ministry of Health; Advisory Board Member, Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine; Executive Member Kumasi City cancer challenge project; Executive member of Breast Health Global Initiative. 

He has been involved in the training of lower level staff and traditional medicine practitioner in early detection of cancers as well as post graduate training of cancer specialist.
