Dr Chiara Varazzani

Biography

Dr Chiara Varazzani is a leading specialist in applying behavioural science to public policy. She has set up and led units of behavioural scientists in government, designed behaviour change interventions and shaped communications across different areas, including health, education, employment and international development. Today, Dr Varazzani is Lead Behavioural Scientist at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris and Adjunct Research Fellow at Monash University. Prior to this, Dr Varazzani held several positions in government. She worked as Principal Advisor of the Behavioural Insights Unit of the Victorian Government in Australia, Advisor in behavioural economics to the Australian Federal Government and Research Fellow at the UK Behavioural Insights Team.
