Biography

Dr Dayana Farias is an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), specializing in Nutritional Epidemiology with a focus on maternal and child health. Dayana has a master's degree in human nutrition and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Science. She leads a study evaluating food consumption markers and growth trajectories in children under two years of age with data from primary healthcare centers in Brazil. Dr Farias is an active member of the Brazilian Maternal and Child Nutrition Consortium, overseeing projects that explore the impact of nutritional status and gestational weight gain on blood pressure trajectories. Additionally, she coordinates a team of analysts for the Brazilian National Survey on Child Nutrition - 2019, concentrating on children under five years of age and their mothers. Dr Farias has also contributed to the development of gestational weight gain charts and recommendations for the Brazilian population.
