Biography

Irina Guseva Canu is an Associate professor of occupational epidemiology at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, University of Lausanne, in Lausanne, Switzerland. Dr Guseva Canu is also the Head of the academic sector in the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health at Unisanté (Center of primary medicine and public health). Dr Guseva Canu’s areas of expertise include ionizing radiation, occupational exposure, work-related chronic diseases (cancer, cardiovascular and mental diseases). Dr Guseva Canu has a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, a Master’s of Public Health, a Master’s degree in Toxicology, a PhD in public health and epidemiology, and a Higher Degree Research. Dr Guseva Canu has 15 years of experience in academic research in the areas of radiation epidemiology, exposure science, perinatal health, and occupational epidemiology and toxicology. Dr Guseva Canu is Secretary of the ICOH Scientific Committee “Nanotechnology workers”; a Scientific expert for IARC (leading author on the IARC Monograph on statistical methods), UNSCEAR, and ANSES; and author of several book chapters and many peer-reviewed articles.
