Biography
Dr Jabed Iqbal, MD, PhD, is a senior consultant anatomical pathologist and clinician–scientist of Bangladeshi origin. His fields of expertise are anatomical pathology, digital pathology, and global health.
His work bridges diagnostic pathology and translational cancer research. Trained in Bangladesh and the United States, he is American Board–certified in anatomical and clinical pathology, with fellowships in oncologic and hematopathology.
At Singapore General Hospital, he directs the Translational Research and Innovation Laboratory (TRAIL), which integrates molecular pathology, spatial biology, and digital tools to enhance diagnostic precision and clinical decision-making. As Clinical Director of the Diagnostics Development Hub (DxD Hub), A*STAR, he oversees diagnostic innovation pipelines that bridge laboratory discovery with scalable, regulatory-ready clinical applications.
Committed to laboratory quality assurance and equitable oncology, Dr Iqbal collaborates with regional partners to strengthen diagnostic capacity and ensure that advances in molecular and AI-assisted pathology translate into accessible, high-quality cancer diagnostics across the Global South.
