Dr Jameela graduated with Honor form the medical school at Arabian Gulf University, joined the Salmaniya Medical complex in 1996. She went to United states and has completed her residency and fellow ship programs in the United States where, the internal medicine residency in Easton, Hahnemann University, Pennsylvania, fellowship in geriatric medicine in Temple University in Pennsylvania, then a fellowship in infectious diseases at Yale University, Connecticut, United States of America.
Dr Jameela is triple American Board certifications: American Board in internal Medicine, geriatric Medicine, and Infectious Diseases. Certified in infection control and American board in medical quality. A member of The Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Antimicrobial resistance (STAG-AMR) is the principal advisory group to the World Health Organization (WHO) on antimicrobial resistance 11/2020 and a member of WHO Infection control and prevention development guidelines for COVID-19.
She received several awards locally, regional, and internationally in her fields for her scientific contribution and has many publications in peer reviewed journals. She also in editorial Board of the several Medical Journals. She is a member in several Professional Society Membership and an associate professor in the Arabian Gulf University involved in a wide range of educational activities.
