Biography

WHO Commissioner on Social Connection

Born in Rabat in 1966, Professor Khalid Aït Taleb began his career by obtaining a doctorate in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Rabat. He has held various positions of responsibility, including Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Fez and Director of the Hassan II University Hospital Centre in Fez in 2004, where he initiated significant reforms, such as the introduction of the IT system, the automatic drug distribution system and the surgical robot, which have considerably improved the services offered in this establishment. He has also demonstrated his commitment to the fight against cancer and the improvement of the Moroccan healthcare system by chairing the Board of Directors of the Cancer Research Institute in 2008, and the Alliance of University Hospitals in 2016.

Professor Khalid Aït Taleb was appointed Minister of Health and Social Protection by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on 9 October 2019 and reappointed for a second term on 14 October 2021. His appointment represented a phase of continuity and consolidation of efforts to strengthen Morocco's healthcare system.
