Biography

Laura Cobb joined Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) as the Director of Nutrition Policy and Surveillance in 2017. She is responsible for designing and implementing RTSL’s nutrition strategy, which aims to prevent cardiovascular disease through policies that eliminate trans fat from the global food supply and reduce sodium intake. 

In her role, Dr. Cobb has partnered with the World Health Organization to support the development and implementation of the REPLACE action package for trans fat elimination. Her team has also supported trans fat elimination efforts in more than 20 countries. 

Prior to joining RTSL, she served as a Senior Technical Advisor for Data Impact at Vital Strategies. In that role, she provided technical assistance to the Ministries of Health of Tanzania and Malawi, and the municipal governments of Shanghai and Mumbai on how to improve their use of data for decision-making. 

Dr. Cobb received her doctorate in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she focused on cardiovascular epidemiology. Prior to her doctorate, she worked at the New York City Department of Health on the National Salt Reduction Initiative (NSRI).
