Biography

Laure de Preux is an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) of Economics in the Department of Economics and Public Policy at Imperial College London Business School in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Dr de Preux’s areas of expertise include health and environmental economics, including determinants of health, environmental policies, co-benefits, and environmental justice. Dr de Preux has Master’s degrees in Business and Economics, and a PhD in Economics. Among others, Dr de Preux previously held a Fellowship from the British Academy to investigate the impact of weather extremes on health. Dr de Preux is currently a Member of the Clean Air Programme ‘A Clean Air Community’ organised by UK Research and Innovation, the Met Office and the National Physical Laboratory and the COMEAP/QUARK ad-hoc group on economic valuation of morbidity related to air pollution of the UK Health Security Agency. Dr de Preux has previously worked as a Consultant for WHO and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Dr de Preux was awarded the Erik Kempe Award in Environmental and Resource Economics in 2015 (awarded every other year to the best paper in the field of environmental and resource economics) and Imperial College London’s Teaching Excellence Awards in 2017 and 2018.
