Biography

Marissa Baker is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, Dept. of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences, in Seattle, United States of America. Dr Baker’s areas of expertise include industrial hygiene, exposure assessment, and occupational exposure surveillance. Dr Baker has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, a Master’s degree in Exposure Sciences, and a PhD in Environmental and Occupational Hygiene. Dr Baker is a member of the United States Environmental Protection Agency Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals. Additionally, Dr Baker was part of the Working Group for IARC Monograph 118 on welding and welding fumes, molybdenum trioxide, and indium tin oxide. Dr Baker received the International Society of Exposure Science’s IPA/DGUV Award for Young Exposure Scientists in 2016, the University of Washington School of Public Health’s Communicating Public Health to the Public Award in 2021, and the Bullard-Sherwood Award for Research to Practice (r2p) in 2022.
