Biography
Dr Myoung-don Oh is an infectious disease physician expert in clinical management and infection prevention and control. He is currently a Professor of Internal Medicine, Seoul National University (SNU) and Chief of Division of Infectious Diseases, Seoul National University Hospital. He is also a Professor of Graduate School of Public Health at SNU, and at the JW Lee Center for Global Medicine, SNU College of Medicine.
Dr Oh has been served as a member of several advisory committees for Korea Government and KCDC, including the Korea Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. His research interest include viral EID including MERS, biological weapons including smallpox and anthrax. He has been involved in developing 2nd generation smallpox vaccine by CJ pharmaceutical company. During the 2015 MERS outbreak in Korea, he served as the director of the coordinating center for clinical case management for severe MERS cases. He is now a focal point for GOARN. He has published over 200 papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
