Dr Nyan Win Phyo
Biography
Dr Nyan Win Phyo is a public health specialist with a background in migrant health and infectious diseases like TB, HIV/AIDS, Malaria and COVID-19 focusing on community health system strengthening, monitoring, evaluation and project implementation.
He studied medicine at University of Medicine 2, Yangon and completed his master of public health at Mahidol University of Bangkok. He is in charge of proposal writing and operational research, Health technical, monitoring and evaluation of grants department at World Vision foundation of Thailand. He has contributed migrant related project researches, presentations, publications and development of technical guidelines, reviews and standard operational procedures of TB/HIV National strategic plan of Thailand on regular basis.
He led the development of community based monitoring and feedback mechanisms of Indonesia in 2019 assigned by Global TB program, Geneva. He initiated TB and COVID-19 integrated approach in Thailand particularly for marginalized population like undocumented migrants, displaced people, stateless and refugees during pandemic crisis. He has contributed in development of a toolkit to develop a national strategic plan to end Tuberculosis, child and adolescent TB guideline, Global fund TB strategy, community guide book for TB preventive treatment, community guide book not to stigma and discrimination for HIV services of key affected population and community and civil society engagement to end TB.
