Prof Rina Agustina
Biography
Prof Agustina, MD, Ph.D., is the Chair of the Human Nutrition Research Center at the Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (HNRC-IMERI), and Professor of Nutrition at the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia. She has 25 years of outstanding work and publications in clinical and community research on maternal, child, and adolescent nutrition in low- and middle-income countries.
She has substantial experience as a principal investigator for large trials, dietary quality studies in maternal, children, and adolescents, reviews on health system analyses, and contributed to landmark work on healthy diets and sustainable food systems. She is the lead author of the Lancet paper on Universal Health Coverage in Indonesia, and co-authors of the EAT-Lancet Commission report on healthy diets from sustainable food systems, the policy brief on Indonesian food systems (Chatham-House), and the Lancet Global Health on multi-micronutrient supplementation in pregnant women.
She works closely with the Indonesian Government as a lead or member of the national expert committees on food, nutrition, and health policy and programs of the Ministry of Health, and other ministries. She is a member of the International Advisory Committee of the New York Academy of Sciences for Maternal Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation and the Steering Committee for Standing Together for Nutrition.
She completed a Medical Doctor (Gadjah Mada University), Master of Nutrition (Universitas Indonesia), and Ph.D. in Human Nutrition (Wageningen University) and had advanced data analyses training at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University.
