Ms Sheena Moosa
Biography
Sheena Moosa (PhD, MPH, MBBS) is public expert by qualification and a researcher by profession with expertise in planning, process mapping and methodologies. She has over 20 years of experience working with the national systems and developmental projects in Maldives, collaborating with neighbouring countries and development partners.
She has undertaken several of projects to promote and protect health and well-being including: support national planning, sector specific or issue-based programme planning, assessments, monitoring and evaluations in the Maldives.
In addition, she has expertise in data systems and analytics, driven from her public health and health system experience in the country as well as through her international experience working in the health system in New Zealand that included epidemiological studies, forecasting and modelling.
She is currently involved in research and information and data systems development for health, social and vital registrations, looking at improving incorporation gender, inclusivity and human rights in the systems.
Her recent works include generating evidence for investment in PHC with a focus on NCDs and STEPS survey in the Maldives and advocating for whole of government approach as the country launch the 25 by 2030 campaign.
