Dr Susana Viegas
Biography
Susana Viegas is Assistant Professor at NOVA National School of Public Health/ Department of Occupational and Environmental Health (https://www.ensp.unl.pt/home/) in Lisbon, Portugal. Dr Viegas’s areas of expertise include occupational health, environmental and public health, exposure science, toxicology, and human biomonitoring. Dr Viegas has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, a Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Toxicology, and a PhD in Public Health. Previously Dr Viegas was a Visiting Scientist at Monographs Programme, Evidence Synthesis and Classification Branch, International Agency for Research on Cancer, World Health Organization (2021-2022). Dr Viegas is currently a member of the Risk Assessment Committee of the European Chemicals Agency and the scientific committee of the European Environment Agency (Environment & health - chemicals). In 2022, Dr Viegas served as Co-Chair of the Annual Meeting of International Society of Exposure Science held in Lisbon, Portugal. Dr. Viegas is involved in many research projects as coordinator and researcher and in 2021 was included in the Stanford University list of the world’s top 2% most cited scientists.
