Biography

Dr Tamás Landesz is a future intelligent leader holding the post of Director, Administration and Finance (DAF) of the World Health Organization, Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WPRO), based in Manila. Dr Landesz has advanced university degrees in public administration (Harvard University), business administration (Vienna), diplomacy and law (Tufts University), as well as a PhD in leadership and organizational change (Paris).

He joined WPRO from WHO’s Global Cancer Research Agency (IARC), based in Lyon, France. Prior to that he was posted in WHO’s Regional Office for the Eastern European Region (EMRO), based in Cairo.

Dr Landesz is a seasoned United Nations diplomat with 30-years accumulated experience in progressively senior positions across five continents, including the private, public and non-profit sectors. He has been awarded as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2010.

His latest open access book titled “Future Intelligence – The World in 2050: Enabling Governments, Innovators and Business to Create a Better Future” (Springer, 2023) brings together experts of specific domains, through the windows of their experience, and in a crowdsourced fashion, to analyze global trends to develop an overall view, a compelling case of what we should be prepared for, as we march towards 2050. Based on the book, Dr Landesz delivered a TEDx talk on how to become a Future-Intelligent Leader – in 5 Easy Steps, urging us to use the future to build the present.
