Dr Winyi Kaboyo
Biography
Dr Winyi Kaboyo is a Ugandan national with more than thirty years’ experience as a veterinary epidemiologist and public health specialist, specializing in zoonotic infectious diseases. Dr Kaboyo joined the TDDA programme from his previous role as National One Health Technical Advisor for the Preparedness & Response project in Uganda, funded by the USA Agency for International Development and led by DAI. In this role, he implemented work to oversee and coordinate country-wide activities to strengthen the One Health approach as well as infectious disease preparedness and response.
Dr Kaboyo previously worked for Uganda’s Ministry of Agriculture and later Ministry of Health, serving as Acting Commissioner of the Community Health Department as well as Assistant Commissioner of Veterinary Public Health. He holds a master's degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.
