Biography

Dr Duha Shellah is a Palestinian physician-scientist and global health leader whose work focuses on strengthening health systems, advancing evidence-informed policy, and promoting equitable access to healthcare in fragile and conflict-affected settings. She is a Research Fellow at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and serves as Vice Chair of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region Youth Council. She is also Chair of the Public Health in Emergencies and Disasters Working Group at the World Federation of Public Health Associations and a member of the Policy Advice Committee of the InterAcademy Partnership. Her research and policy interests include health systems resilience, global surgery, public health emergencies, science governance, and translating scientific evidence into policy. She has contributed to WHO initiatives, international research collaborations, and global scientific advisory processes to advance evidence-informed decision-making.
