Professor Ellen Chirwa

Professor Ellen Chirwa is a Registered Malawian Nurse Midwife and graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago,  where she earned her PhD in Nursing in 2007. She has 30 years’ experience of teaching midwifery and reproductive health research in undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Kamuzu College of Nursing. She has done extensive research and consultations in reproductive health with a focus on maternal and neonatal health and HIV in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and is proficient in English. She is based in Blantyre, Malawi.
