Dr Eshetu Girma
Biography
Eshetu Girma is a research Scientist at the African Population and Health Research Center, Kenya. He has more than 15 years experiences in behavioural health sciences. Previously, he was Assistant Professor in the Health Behaviour and Society department at Jimma University, Ethiopia, and Associate Professor of behavioural health sciences in the School of Public Health, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Dr Girma is one of the founding members and president of the Ethiopian Health Education and Promotion Professionals Association. He is a specialist in the field of social and behavioural health sciences, behavioural insight and strategic health communication. Dr Girma has served as a consultant for development partners and the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, successfully led grants on social and behavioural sciences, authored more than 80 scientific articles, and received the young researcher award of the Ethiopian Public Health Association in 2012. He has a PhD in International Health from Ludwig Maximilian’s University, Germany, and BSc and MPH in Health Promotion and Behavioral Health Sciences from Jimma University, Ethiopia.
