Ms Fatima Tsiouris
Biography
Fatima Tsiouris is an independent global health consultant with more than 20 years of experience managing, coordinating, and directing large-scale health development initiatives focused on HIV, maternal and child health, quality improvement, health workforce capacity building, and HIV/nutrition integration.
She previously held senior leadership roles at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) and ICAP at Columbia University, where she led and supported the implementation of HIV and PMTCT/MCH programs across more than 20 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Central and South America.
Her work has included leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of multiple implementation science initiatives, including integration of family planning and HIV services in Zambia, a birth testing pilot in Eswatini, quality improvement collaboratives to improve HIV-exposed infant testing in Cameroon, and interventions to strengthen retention among PMTCT clients in Mozambique.
Her research and technical interests focus on optimizing maternal and child health services through a human-centered design lens and developing differentiated service delivery models for women and children.
Throughout her career, she has played an integral role in global PMTCT efforts, including serving as Co-Chair of the Global Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Working Group of the Interagency Task Team (IATT) on PMTCT and as Co-Lead of the Start Free Working Group under the Start Free, Stay Free, AIDS Free framework aimed at ending AIDS in children, adolescents, and young women by 2020.
