Dr Francesca de Rosa
Biography
Dr Francesca de Rosa is an engineer (Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence) with over fifteen years of specialized experience in human factors engineering, cognitive engineering and human-system integration applied to complex emergency and security environments. She spent twelve years at the NATO STO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation, where she designed decision-support systems and pioneered analytical wargaming and simulation exercise methodologies for defence, security and crisis management. She went on to serve as chief scientific officer at the Center for Advanced Preparedness and Threat Response Simulation, leading capability-building, serious gaming and simulation exercise programmes for pandemic and public health preparedness. She was adjunct professor in Computer Games and Simulations at the University of Genoa (Italy). She is the founder of FDR Strategies and a board member of the Serious Game Society.
