Biography
Gillian Hunt is a principal scientist at Bio Analytical Research Corporation South Africa (BARC-SA). Prior that, Gillian worked as a senior medical scientist at the Centre for HIV and STIs, National Institute for Communicable Diseases, Johannesburg, South Africa which serves as the regional drug resistance testing laboratory performing surveillance testing for South Africa and neighboring countries. She received her PhD in Virology from the University of Witwatersrand in 2003 and has been working in the field of HIV since 1996.
Between 2018 and 2022, Gillian Hunt served as a member of the WHO HIVResNet Steering Group and co-chaired Working Group 4 on Laboratory Capacity.
