Goran Zangana

Biography

Goran Zangana is originally from the Kurdistan region of Iraq. He is a medical doctor doing his initial training and practice in Iraq. He was a Fulbright fellow in the US doing a master’s in health policy at the Emory University and did his PhD in international public health policy at the University of Edinburgh with a focus on conflict-affected health systems. Prior to joining the HSG board Goran was a member of the governing board of emerging voices for global health and an advisor to the Fragile and Conflict-Affected States Thematic Working Groups. He is a consultant in acute medicine in NHS Scotland, NHS Lothian lead for International Medical Graduates and is NHS Scotland Global Citizenship champion.
