Gunta Dravniece
Biography
Dr Dravniece is a senior TB expert bringing several years of clinical experience and programme management skills. Following a successful career in clinical care, in 2010, she joined the KNCV TB Foundation providing expertise in the programme management of drug-resistant TB (DR-TB). She is a former member of the initial global Green Light Committee (GLC), a WHO-hosted network of international TB experts evaluating the feasibility of TB programmes implementing interventions tackling drug-resistant forms of TB in countries with a high burden of DR-TB, as well as of its regional section in Europe (rGLC/Europe). For more than 20 years, she also served as a facilitator at the WHO collaborative Center on DR-TB management in Latvia. She is a member of technical working group on the introduction of shorter DR-TB treatment regimens hosted by the WHO Regional Office for Europe. In February 2020, she joined PATH, a non-profit global health organization, where she is now leading efforts to tackle TB in Ukraine through a USAID-funded project.
