Assoc. Professor Hosam Zowawi

Biography

Associate Professor Hosam Zowawi is a Saudi infectious diseases scientist and senior executive adviser in global health security, emergency management, research, development and innovation, and national strategies. He has advised senior decision-makers and institutions in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, and internationally on pandemic preparedness, biotechnology, One Health, surveillance, laboratory systems, vaccination, cross-government coordination and multilateral cooperation. His experience spans scientific evidence, policy design, institutional implementation and international advisory work, including service on WHO expert groups. He strengthens preparedness, capability and accountability across complex systems while translating evidence into policy and public engagement. He is a Rolex Awards Laureate and a TIME Next Generation Leader.
