Ian Askew

Dr Ian Askew was the former Director of HRP and WHO’s Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research, and previously the Director of Reproductive Health Services and Research at the Population Council. In these roles, he championed the application of implementation research approaches for improving SRHR, and capacity building of national research institutions in low-income countries. He has expertise in a wide range of SRH topics, especially contraception, abortion, STIs, VAWG and FGM, and infertility, as well as health systems and financing.
