Ms Ilisabeta May Pesamino

Ilisabeta Pesamino is the Chief Pharmacist at the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services, and she also heads the Fiji Medicines Regulatory Authority. She holds a Masters in Business Administration; and after completing her pharmacy training, she worked in hospital pharmacies in Fiji before joining the medicines regulatory arm of the Ministry of Health & Medical Services where she has worked the last 10 years building, developing and strengthening Fiji’s regulatory systems.  Her recent work involves the development of a provisional drug registration system for Fiji. She has experience in product regulation in Fiji and the Pacific, and her special interests are in Strategic Planning and developing pharmaceutical policies and guidelines. She also heads the Essential Medicines unit which is responsible for reviewing the Treatment Guidelines and Essential Medicines List for Fiji. She also serves on the National Medicine & Therapeutics Committee, National Antimicrobial Resistance Committee, Fiji Medicinal Products Board and Fiji Pharmacy Profession Board.
