Indrawati Sendow
Biography
Dr Indrawati Sendow is a veterinarian and senior researcher working on zoonotic and exotic diseases at the Research Center for Veterinary Science, housed in the National Research and Innovation Agency (NRIA) of Indonesia. For over four decades she served as a researcher, veterinary clinician and biosafety officer in the Virology section in Indonesian Research Center for Veterinary Science (IRCVS), before moving to NRIA in 2022. During that time she established a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) Lab at IRCVS and acted as a certified instructor for biosafety and biosecurity for numerous academic institutions.
Dr Sendow is a member of World Organization for Animal Health’s (WOAH) Ad Hoc Expert Group on Biosafety and serves on several committees for biorisk management in Indonesia. In 2011 she obtained the Biosafety Hero award from the International Federation of Biosafety Association (IFBA), where she is certified in biorisk management. Dr. Sendow has authored more than 120 publications – peer-reviewed research, National and International Journals related to pet, domestic and wild animals diseases, zoonotic, emerging diseases and Biosafety aspects.
