Biography
James A. Banaski Jr., MS, CEM, MEP, is an international emergency management and global health security expert with more than 25 years of experience supporting preparedness, emergency response and health systems strengthening. A former senior leader with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), he has led national and international initiatives in emergency operations, incident management, chemical events, biosafety and biosecurity, workforce development and simulation exercises. Mr Banaski has supported WHO, ECDC, UNICEF, CARPHA and ministries of health across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Caribbean, advancing preparedness, operational readiness and resilient public health systems.
