Jane Bates

Jane is a Family Medicine specialist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in Blantyre, Malawi and at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has pioneered primary palliative care models of service delivery, teaching and research in public sector health facilities in Malawi. Her research interests include building an investment case for palliative care in LMICs, to bridge the ‘access abyss’ for palliative care within Universal Health Coverage.
