Jayanth Bhuvaraghan

Jayanth is an accomplished global business leader in the eye health sector and a passionate believer in “business as a force for good”.

Jayanth is a strong campaigner for greater eye health access and awareness and his professional purpose has been to bring good vision to everyone everywhere and this has been a huge part of his life and career.

He strongly believes in driving innovation to serve the large population in the base of the pyramid and is credited with creating first time primary eye care access to over 500 million people around the world.

Post his retirement from Essilor International as the Chief Mission Officer in May 2021, he continues to work actively in the eye health acceleration initiatives, primarily in the refractive error space.

One of his key interests is to drive innovation in areas of telehealth and diagnostics and bring equitable health care access to everyone everywhere in the world.

Jayanth serves on the boards of a few global nonprofits and has extensive experience in corporate purpose, governance and sustainable development.

Jayanth lives in Singapore and has a unique blend of experience in the areas of creating primary eye care access, inclusive business, BOP Innovation, philanthropy, advocacy and driving social impact.

Jayanth holds a BSC (Hons) degree in physics from Delhi University and an MS degree in material science from Anna University. He is also an Alumni of Insead Fontainbleau’s Advanced Management Program.
