Dr Jayne Smitten
Biography
Dr Jayne Smitten is an internationally recognized leader in health-care simulation and experiential education, with academic leadership experience across universities in Canada, Qatar and the United States. She is a 2024 past president and academy fellow of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator–Advanced (CHSE-A) and serves on the international board reviewing simulation centre accreditation. She is also president-elect, Hawai‘i Public Health Association for 2026, further contributing to public health leadership, workforce development and community impact in Hawai‘i and beyond. Her expertise spans simulation-based education, public health, policy, research, strategic planning and innovative technology-enabled learning. Dr Smitten has presented and published internationally, advancing simulation education and workforce development across diverse populations and health-care settings.
