Biography

Prof John Hayball is a Research Professor in Immunology and Vaccinology, and leads the Experimental Therapeutics Laboratory within the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science, College of Health, at Adelaide University.

His group perform basic, translational and clinical research that aims to improve chronic and acute health outcomes, by exploring novel immunotherapeutic approaches to treat and prevent acute and chronic infections, allergy and cancer.

John is focussed on cross-disciplinary collaboration leading to productive translational outcomes in human health, by strategically engaging with the relevant stakeholders to form integrated research programs with the capacity to address challenging health questions. He has a successful track record of research grant funding from the NHMRC, MRFF and ARC, as well as other National and International competitive funding schemes.

He has a long history of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry engagement, including executive, advisory and consultancies roles, and a track record of successful commercial collaborative and contractual research funding, and award of competitive industry-leveraged federal and state government funding schemes.
