Biography

Junzhi Wang, M.D., Ph.D., Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is the Chief Expert of Biological Products Quality Control of National Institutes for Food and Drug Control, Director of WHO Collaborating Center for Standardization and Evaluation of Biologicals, Chairman of Biotechnology Committee of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Wang got his Ph.D. from Mie University in Japan. After returning to China in 1995, he presided over the establishment of the key technology system of biological drug quality control and safety evaluation in accordance with international standards, which have ensured the safety and effectiveness of domestic innovative biological drugs and accelerated their R&D processes, also facilitated the settlement in China of the WHO Collaborating Center for standardization and evaluation of biologicals. He received the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award four times, the second prize of National Technology Invention Award for one time. He published more than 200 papers as the first or corresponding author. Wang is a recipient of several awards, including Bethune Medal, National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers and National Innovation Award.
