Biography

Professor Kristie Ebi was the founder of the Centre for Health and the Global Environment, University of Washington, Seattle. She is one of the leading experts on climate change and Health and has written and published scientific papers and reports on climate change and Health particularly in Small Island Developing States. Professor Ebi served as one of the lead authors of the Climate Change and Health aspects of the IPCC Report on Climate Change. She is well-versed on climate change and Health in the Pacific and has delivered keynote speeches in international forums and meetings including the Fifth Meeting of the Asia Pacific Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health held in August 2019. She is also a lead consul tant for the GEF project 'Building Resilience of Health Systems in Pacific Island LDCs to Climate Change'. Professor Kristie Ebi is one of the pioneers in the area of climate change and health. With her significant knowledge on CC&H in the Western Pacific countries, Professor Ebi will provide insight on Health vulnerability and adaptation assessment, and building climate resilience into Health systems.
