Professor Kun Zheng
Biography
Professor Kun Zheng, BS LL.M CCE, is a senior biomedical engineer that currently serves as head of Governance Risk and Compliance at the Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China. He was the director of the hospital Clinical Engineering department from December 1985 to June 2010 and from July 2015 to March 2018 before becoming the director of the Purchasing Center and Logistic Support Department. He served as the director of Informatics from July 2010 to June 2015.
He is a nationally recognized expert in clinical engineering and health technology management in China and actively took part in several international projects. He was also the chief clinical engineer who oversaw the health technology management process for the first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in China. Moreover, he has spent more than 15 years as a leader in several Chinese clinical engineering professional associations.
As part of his academic career, he has contributed to numerous research projects, authored more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, and published five textbooks on health technology management. In 2015, he was the recipient of the IFMBE CED's Clinical Engineering Teamwork Award.
He graduated from Zhejiang University with a bachelor’s in biomedical engineering and a master’s in Law. From 1988 to 1989, he was also awarded a fellowship by the Ohio State University and the US National Institutes of Health.
