Lamin Massaquoi
Biography
Lamin Massaquoi, PhD, is a Technical Officer Working in the Adolescent and Young Adult Unit in WHO’s HQ in Geneva. He is a beneficiary of the Young Professionals Programme. Dr Massaquoi holds a PhD in Epidemiology and a Master’s degree in Public Health. He has a background in Public Health and Epidemiology and has several years of experience working in various parts of the world on a variety of Public Health related issues.
Most recently, he worked with the UNFPA-UNICEF Joint Programme on the Elimination of Female Genital Mutilation as an Expert Population and Data Research Fellow supporting countries in the East and Southern Africa, and the Arab Region (ESARO).
Previously, Dr Massaquoi worked with Doctors without Borders (MSF) as the Epidemiologist Operational Research Manager on an advanced HIV project in Kinshasa, DRC. Prior to working with MSF, Lamin worked for academic institutions administering and facilitating health research grants as well as conducting impactful research for major international humanitarian organizations.
