Biography

Dr Linden is a physician specialized in neurology and psychiatry, an MSc in epidemiology and an associate professor in Neurology at Gothenburg University, Sweden.

His background includes clinical and epidemiological studies in NCD, with a focus on stroke, cognitive disorders and mental health. He has served as a board member of the Swedish Medical Association, chairing its Ethics Council and has also been an official advisor to the World Medical Association in Medico-Ethical Affairs.

He has been appointed a visiting professor to the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Melbourne, Australia and a conjoint Associate Professor to the Hunter Medical Research Institute in Newcastle.

His current responsibilities as a director of Knowledge- based Policy of Health Care at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare includes providing National Clinical Treatment Guidelines and Screening Recommendations, Hosting National Plans for Cancer, Mental Health, Maternal care and more. Currently, he also serves as the Swedish Government Chief Medical Officer.
