Liquan Dong

Dong Liquan specializes in rehabilitation medicine and assistive technology management and research. During his tenure as the director of the Assistive Technology Center in Anhui Province, he pioneered the inclusion of assistive products in the medical insurance system. Upon joining the China Assistive Devices and Technology Center for Persons with Disabilities in 2009, he played a key role in shaping national policies and programs related to assistive technology. He also contributed to the development of a national list of priority assistive products to improve access to assistive technology. Additionally, he took the lead in launching projects to set up a national network for assistive technology services, to develop a pioneering online assistive technology service model, and to incorporate the role of assistive technology consultants into the national vocational framework. He also led national key research and development programs on assistive technology services. Furthermore, he actively promoted international exchanges and organized the Global Conference on Assistive Technology and the Expert Meeting on Global Cooperation on Assistive Technology in 2015
