Mr Luan Vo

Biography

Luan leads Friends for International TB Relief (FIT), a German membership association with the vision of ending TB in our lifetimes. Through this position he has gained significant experience in TB care and prevention at the national level in Vietnam and India. This encompasses specifically community and civil society engagement for care provision to persons with TB as well as design and provision of social protection mechanisms for TB-affected individuals and families. In addition to these activities, he has been leading and supporting a number of social sciences research studies that involve and support persons and key vulnerable communities affected by TB. Prior to public health, Luan worked in financial advisory services at KPMG in Frankfurt and NYC, and pharmaceutical consulting at TargetRx in Philadelphia.

Luan has supported the Vietnam National TB Control Program in the implementation and evidence generation for active case finding, private sector engagement, social protection and TB prevention. He contributed to the National Action Plan to End TB, co-led the 2015-2020 End-term Program Review and was member of the Global Fund CCM’s technical advisory group on TB in 2021-2023. Luan is treasurer of the board of directors for the International Union Against TB and Lung Disease and consultant for the Stop TB Partnership. Luan has a master of public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a bachelor in biomedical engineering and mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
