Professor Luciana Spadaccini

Luciana Spadaccini is an infectious diseases physician from Argentina. She holds a Master’s degree in HIV/AIDS from the University of Barcelona and postgraduate training in gender, medical education, and currently completing postgraduate training in sexology. Her work at Fundación Huésped focuses on HIV and sexually transmitted infections research, including extragenital Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis infections among key populations. She is involved in sentinel surveillance of gonococcal antimicrobial resistance at Fundación Huésped, in collaboration with ANLIS-Malbrán.

She is a university professor in infectious diseases and coordinates a postgraduate diploma on sexual health and STIs. She is a member of SADI, IAS, and IUSTI, and serves on the Editorial Committee of Actualizaciones en Sida e Infectología. She has contributed to national guidelines on HIV prevention and STI management in Argentina. Her work integrates biomedical evidence with gender, human rights, and the social and structural determinants that shape sexual health and access to care.
